The Chocolate Factory, nestled between Wood Green and Alexandra Palace, sits within a designated cultural quarter in North London. Once a bustling confectionery works, the building retains the character of its industrial past while embracing a contemporary, creative identity now home to over 200 artists and creatives.

Summary

Inside, bright and airy studios are defined by generous ceiling heights, expansive factory windows that flood the interiors with natural light, and robust structural details typical of early 20th-century manufacturing buildings. Original brickwork, exposed steel beams and concrete floors celebrate the building’s heritage.

Working directly with the landlord, Workspace, OW-N were commissioned to deliver the full FF&E consultancy and procurement for all the common parts and front-of-house areas.

The furniture palette introduces confident pops of primary colour, a playful reference to the building’s confectionery heritage, set against the raw industrial backdrop of brick, steel and concrete. A curated artwork programme was also installed throughout the shared spaces, reinforcing the building’s creative energy and adding moments of colour and visual interest that are visible from arrival through to the communal areas.
